Went out to dinner with a guitarist friend last night who's really into blues, and he gave me a copy of larry carltons 'sapphire blue' recorded 2004. Here's a couple of burning tracks, and the shuffle, reminiscent of gadd's style in some parts, is the kind of tune you could play for a whole set and just not get bored of. I love it and the brass really makes it happen! Cool groove in the other tune as well. First time I've come across billy kilson. I would say his feel in 'friday night shuffle' is quite pushy, but it's nice and works well. Enjoy.

Thanks for the tunes Rudy!
Billy Kilson is a killer player, i watched him with Chris Botti as a warm-up act for Sting, and enjoyed Billy more than the Sting concert. He's a wonderful listener, with intimidating versality and facility!

Billy is on my top 5 list. I've said this before and shocked some of you when I compared him to Tony Williams !
Well I still think, that in a couple of years, he will be one of the jazz drummers that others measure up to. Just like Bill Stewart for many of today's jazz drummers.
DO NOT MISS Billy if he comes to your town !!!
